How it started

When I first visited Crete in 1995 I searched without success, for cross stitch kits or patterns showing scenes of the island.

I continued the search during twelve holidays, still without success. It was when my husband and I came to live in Crete that I decided the only thing to do was to produce my own designs. Cross Stitch Crete was born.

My aim is to produce unique designs reflecting Cretan life, culture and history. My first designs are available now as complete high quality kits or as patterns only.

The range is small at the moment because I have stitched each of the designs personally. Several designs are reasonably challenging because of the size and the number of colours but I hope you will find them as rewarding to stitch as I did. Others are less demanding.

I am currently developing a range of simple designs for items such as coasters, book marks and key rings.
